If any Googling experts can find Pierre Dulos' Patent for the surface printing method, that would be very much appreciated.
Dulos Notes. Best Google translation. Pierre Dulos: from an artisanal engraving to a pre-industrial engraving at the beginning of the second half of the 19th century At the beginning of the second half of the nineteenth century, a new engraver supplanted the previous ones. This is Pierre Dulos (1820-1874). His first appearance (testified) in the Journal de Liouville dates from 18! His figures illustrate articles by Louts Poinsot (1777-1859) and Frederic Reech (1305-1884). There is also an indexing error since the two plates are numbered "Plate I" This may be due to the fact that the article Poinsot, probably almost its publication in the Journal was the object of a memory pulls apart [99]. The plane contains eleven figures; they all deal with cones circulates on different geometrical objects (points cones cones etc.) Below the frame, are indicated the names of "principal acts matenels": the engraver "Dulos sc", the publisher "" Bachelier, editor: the printer "N. Remond, imp. r. Noyers, 65, Paris. The figures are executed with a very large figure showing shadowy parts (Fig. 14). These figures are also taken up in a later version of this text published two years later in 1855, in Knowledge of the Times [100]. This presence of Dulos, in the Diary of LJouvilte, illustrates if ridden in force in the years cmquante. The (general) study of \; engraving house of Pierre Dulos was made by Klaus and Ann Hentschel [101] The end of the passage that Guillerme devotes to Adam and Lemaltre evokes the grip of the market of engraving by Dulos from 1846 In the middle of the century, Dulos is present in many scientific publications. The study of the plates of the Annaies of the imperial Observatory of Pans, begun in 1855 by Urbain-Jean-Joseph Le Verrier (1811-1877) shows that the many planks are all made by Dulos and are printed at "Legay, rue de the Bucherie, 1, Paris. In the first seven volumes, scanning the period 1355-863, there are about a dozen boards representing almost Achievements at the Academy |

Rod - out of interest, what drove the price of the Kemal cover so high? Looks unremarkable to the layman. |

Quote: Rod - out of interest, what drove the price of the Kemal cover so high? Looks unremarkable to the layman. Geoff, I really don't know, I still feel a layman myself with Turkey, so much to learn. It just seems par for the course. I have lost every single bid, ever, on postal history, bar 1 cover I won at $1.45. Perhaps the seal that ties the cover? With postal history, the big guys possibly exhibit, and that's a bridge to far for me. Postcards go for similar amounts, sometimes more. The vendor (In Australia) gets quite a deal of Turkey material, so perhaps he has a clientele that has him as a favourite with his ebay shop. The purchaser of this item, had only 378 "buys" with ebay, which makes it even more intriguing. Could be even as abstruse as an Oral Hygiene Thematic for a collector. |

A Broadcast THANK YOU.I would like to publicly acknowledge a feat of legerdemaine, that leaves me almost speechless. Without being asked, one of our esteemed members (Postmaster GS) has translated an entire Andreas Birken study, for me, regarding specialised infomation studies. German to English. How you computer savvy fellows manage things like this, has me shaking my head in disbelief. It is hard to find the words to show my appreciation, to be frank, I cannot stop grinning,as I head into a new found appreciation and learning into Turkish Philately. Postmaster, to me, you are an gold plated legend. |

Glad you got them working, Rod. It was a good way to help you out, while improving on my German-language skills. And as a bonus, I now know more about the printing processes of 19th Century Turkish stamps than I even imagined I would! |

Postmaster, that is just wonderful, thank you so much. I searched for several days, and gave up.
I have read it twice now, need perhaps another several readings to fully understand. Just fabulous to have the full story.
