Unbelievable, I count at least 8 stamps not ID properly. Some are expensive one.

Meanwhile, some Austrian revenues at lot 327 here - but quite expensive and not much detail

area66, when you see misidentified stamps in an ebay lot do you contact the seller and let them know? I always do, and one of my main criteria for rating sellers (in my own head) is how they respond. Some (a distinct minority) simply ignore me. Others (also a minority but a larger one) say thanks for your input I'll look into it but then do nothing. Most, I have to say, end up changing the listing, or at least posting my input. So far I've had only a couple of interactions in which the seller has responded but refused to accept the fact that the listing is erroneous (can you say "laid paper"?).

My contact with sellers is about 60-40. You really need to read feedback before you bid on somethings. Poor packaging is another issue with some sellers. Just not worth dealing with them.

Stamp Smarter database has almost 2000 reviews, most where the sellers were contacted. The percentage of sellers that were willing to improve their listings is 36%. This seems pretty firm, quantified evidence that about 1/3 of all sellers are willing to update or change a listing.

Less than 1% of the reviews are cases where the listing was in error in favor of a buyer; 'mistakes' and 'errors' almost always favor the seller. Many people, for various reasons, list stamps as the more expensive variety.

I would also add that the original poster calls out a listed collection. It is generally understood that collections contain stamps which may or may not have been reviewed by the seller. Few people have the time or expertise to check every stamp in a collection. ebay is full of misidentified single stamps; in my opinion is more critical to fix these as opposed to trying to address the larger mixed collection listings.
