Continued clearing the backlog of stamps that require mounting. Another stamp mount order should arrive tomorrow. Started with "A" countries; working on Bermuda presently. I'll keep going until I run out of mounts or previously-printed pages, whichever comes first. Then print more pages or order more stamp mounts: the cycle continues.

After advice on this Forum purchased the 17th edition Stoneham stamp catalogue and managed to obtain 4 Victoria 1d Red SG8s with maltese cross cancellations for under £1 each - well chuffed. |

I finally got around to sorting out about 500 stamps I received a couple of weeks ago and I got excited when I got the mail since I thought that the set of Australian pre-decimals had finally arrived, but no, it was a Christmas card from my auto shop. Hopefully tomorrow. |

Cleaned up my stamp room. Collected all of the mounts hiding in various places and sorted them. In doing that I also sorted used/new glassines, 102/107 cards, perf gauges, magnifying glasses, and other supplies. I had a dozen pencils in various places. I also gathered up all of the random stamps (loose, glassines, stock cards, etc.) that I found and sorted them by country to be worked up with the next job. That job was to gather all of the world wide albums (5) and country collection (10 inch high stack) that I plan to work through this winter. Lastly, I made the decision to move all of the stamps from an old (1949?) Junior International album to a much cleaner Volume I International album. I feel really good about the cleaning and organizing. Oh, and I am working up some stamps for my local club(s) in my spare time. |

I bought a couple of those white Sterilite 3-drawer bins and started organizing my showgard mount packages, tongs, and guillotine. Labeled some envelopes for the remainders of the strip mounts sorted by size. I'm setting up a room for my hobbies, so I'll be getting a cube storage shelf for my stamp albums, dealer books and reference books. |

Quote: Today I started a study on Sydney duplex cancels 1871-1888 on my De Le Rue holdings.
Pleased to say I've made 3 significant discoveries already! I've recently finished my research with the material I have available, and will publish the results here soon |

Got these today from a local used book store. When I checked out with only Vol 1, he gave me all three for price of 1 ($15). Said he needed the space and these had been sitting there for a couple years. |

cannoneer, thanks for your post that caught my eye immediately! I searched online for these "Opinions" and found them published there by the PF! Before I knew it, hours had passed since I first started reading the 1st volume...certainly kept my attention and may be leading me into a different avenue of philatelic research! At $15 for all three is quite the steal! ebay has a volume in the teens to $30's. I imagine the you don't want to part with them, but if you do, give me a jingle. Thanks again, John |

Organized pre-1949 Germany. Found that I had already mounted 1949-1959 for Berlin (Scott 9N*), Federal Republic, and DDR including the Scott 10N* Russian Zone. Looking back at my Germany specialty pages that I populated somewhat sparsely 25 years ago, I'm not liking the layout or spacing, thin paper, and even some yellowing of what should have been archival mounts. So, I'm going to redo Germany to 1949 on new pages. |

While looking for my packets of early German stamps that I seem to have misplaced (or not), I stumbled across a few hundred more Romania! Approximately 40 of them I actually needed in classic section. Woo hoo!
Update: Found my misplaced German stamps. They were in a 40 yr old shoebox with U.S. stamps that I rarely open. |
