@NicholasC, Thanks for the heads up. I modify pages too. I will combine pdfs and then resort to follow Scott order. I always add catalog and page numbers before I print them. This is in addition to redo pages to split blocks, add varieties, etc. |

@shermae, what you posted are stamps referred to as 'Franco y Castillo de La Mota,' edifil 1024 - 1032, These also exist with face values 30cts, 45cts, 50cts, and 70 cts. The 50cts stamp shown is from another set, that includes 5cts, 15cts, and 80cts stamps in the same design (edifil 1020-1023). |

Thanks NSK. Forgot there was another unrelated stamp I got for Spain. I have some of the other values already so this lot is just an add-on as I complete sets. |

Finished mounting the 250+ Indonesia yesterday (1950-1959 plus postage due through 1967). Today I mounted 250 for Italy from 1950-1959. Up next are Japan and Lebanon, similar years. I'm getting low on some mount sizes and I'm out of binder space. I need Staples to have a sale. Prices are out of control. |

I am still working on Netherlands/Indies Indonesia and discovered Steiner did not have spaces for the minor (perf difference) issues for the sc 307-330 group so will create a page since I have some of the perf 11˝ varieties. |

Yesterday I spent the day at WESTPEX. I didn't buy much at all. I spent more on picture postcards (postally used and not) than I did on stamps, and I spent more on supplies than on stamps and postcards combined. The day's most expensive purchase was a green Vario G binder with slipcase, since my artificial international languages topical collection needs to expand into a fourth binder. (One of the postcards that I got was one written in Esperanto from 1912, for only two dollars.) Here's the most interesting of the postcards that I bought, and it even has a local connection! |

Picked up an auction lot yesterday, comprising eight world 'schoolboy' album collections and a mass of loose stamp for less than a tenner. Just glancing through, I was interested to see what appeared to be several imperf penny blacks on one page, but looking closer, they seem to be stickers rather than stamps as the backs are 'sticky' with what seems to be a more modern adhesive rather than original gum. I could be wrong, in which case, a nice find! Lots to sort out over the next couple of weeks, and while I'm not expecting any major surprises, you never know... |

Penny Blacks, always, are imperforate. They all appear to have been cancelled. So, you should not expect gum. If there is gum, it might be glue, if someone stuck them in an album. If they were kept in a photo album, it might be residue from the album pages.
That said, they look funny. They appear to be copies. |

This is a nice one for psychologists. Your brain is fooling you Geoff. Less than half are from the first row. |

My first thought was copies, obviously. What schoolboy collector could afford five of them? I still don't have a genuine penny black in my collection, and I'm retired. Some interesting non-stamp ephemera in the collection though - a few 'XLCR' items: a world map, a pocket stamp wallet, a starter album (blank), watermark detector and a stamp identification sheet. Also a nice typewritten letter to the parents from a dealer advising that their child has taken stamps on approval and explaining what a wonderful hobby stamp collecting can be. Even adults partake in it these days you know! History in a box. |

For me a mishmash - completed all plate positions of one of the varieties of the 2 cent Navajo stamps, got a sheet of Priority Mail stamps from 2014 (bought with a sizable premium), then some older Iceland stamps and recent or very modern issues of French Polynesian and UN stamps. |
