Today I recognized the minuteness of my spreadsheets.
That kind of organization is way crazy!! I can only do that for sets.
I've done small stuff like the US transportation series.

The whole series in the spreadsheet, and I've done the Americanas as well as individual collections.

Hello all,
Today I have begun the (often put-off) task of combining two recent additions into my Canada collection, which necessitates a move to a larger stockbook. One find in the new collection made me wonder about this cancellation.

It reads Harrison Hot Springs, BC, and is dated Feb 21, 1933.
From looking at Wiki it seems this place was quite a tourist spot from the discovery of the thermal springs. This stamp was probably on someone's post card originally.
Regards
DavidR

Nice cancel.

It could have been on a postcard but it would have overpaid the two-cent rate. Three cents would pay a two-ounce local letter or a one-ounce letter to other points in Canada or the U.S.

I think. Don't write that in your album without double checking.

I finally got to a stage on building my new classicstampcollector.com web site that I felt comfortable launching it. my hope is to build something new/returning collectors might find attractive. there is still much to do, but I feel it is a good start.

Bryan, what a great site!
I've been on stampplating.com over the years a bunch, but your new site is the "creme de la creme".

And, you're probably the only guy I've ever known who owns a 1869 invert!! And, nice speaking with you a few weeks ago about Big Blue!

Thanks, Ray

You're welcome Ray! I really enjoyed our chat and hope to talk again. The big blue scans on that site are about four years old, so reflect a much lower completion percentage that I have now (as we discussed); but, I wanted to get the new site going so went with what I had ready. I did those scans to try out a quick and dirty iPad photo method of using a click button with my iPad in foxed place over the albums and then quickly flipping pages and clicking the shoot button. it works surprisingly well in a similar way to how the auction houses for big collection do their videos, but mine are page by page.

Anyway, I've deccide, since I'm now about ready to complete the Big Blue this year, I am going to methodically run them through my old Epson V600 scanner page by page - which will take me forever. I plan to add a bunch of other section to classicstampcollector as I have more "retirement time" and get into my First Flights, Postal Cards and Stationary, Duck Stamps, and even my Perfins. This great hobby can keep me active for a very long time.
