I am still tinkering with my US Americana series album pages for my Mystic album.

I have changed my mind several times on how I want to organize them. A case in point is that there were 3 coil issues issued much later (Scott numbers 1811-1813). The question is do I keep them as separate group in the 1980 era or put them in with the rest.

Now, Mystic originally had them located with the main bunch but in later albums they revamped the layouts and moved everything in catalog order. If I recall, these were issued during the rate change (18c B stamps) so makes some sense to call these the Rate Change issues and leave them later in the album.

Decisions, Decisions.

I finally finished up my Americana pages finally.

I also purchased a color laser printer and really like the printouts. I do not like inkjets due to expiring inks and blacks not as black as laser, etc. It looks good on multi-purpose paper (inkjet, laser, etc) and prints black sections without wrinkling paper). I will use it to print out color material like for reference and some stamp pics for the wall.

Finished grouping my stamps from the Portuguese Colonies in one place. Some lovely designs, especially those produced by Waterlow. Chiefly intended for small boys and girls in Europe, but a world away from today's labels. Even the postage dues look good.

Geoff, they are indeed classy postage dues. Nyassa Company had a fine eye for the collector's market and never failed to deliver lovely stamps. I wonder how many of these PDs were ever genuinely used?

Not many, I suspect! Waterlow also did well out of Edgcumbe's artwork. His earlier giraffe and zebra were still being used for the 1921 issue.

Oops - just realised I uploaded Ceres instead of the intended 1921 Nyassa pictorials!

I have much time on minor variety album pages for my US collection...

Areas finished

1. Americana series
2. Added page for 498-501 booklet panes
3. Transportation series group 1

Working on transportation group 2 and 3 (will combine) and the "C" rate change and associated definitives.

The Great Americans will be a lot of work so doing the easier ones first.

It is always a question whether to not do more or less Scott order or complete groupings (like Great Americans are scattered in multiple groups just like Transportations). It is more work to combine.

Just attended "The Royal" (RPSC annual show) at Boucherville, Quebec; spent far too much money. Many great exhibits.

I continue to work on my album pages. I have done 22 more since my last posting. Often it is to add a few varieties and re-layout the page.

Today I:

-found my old stamp album from 1987
-found an old stamp guide from 1974
-went on ebay and purchased a 2014 stamp guide (10-20 bucks cheaper than the 2017 one)
-registered on stampcommunity.org!

Looking forward to getting back into the hobby after a 30 year break.

Finished cataloguing my library, and began selecting a border for album page, was trying for common border for the stamp pages and the postal history pages. Made a couple I like, for at least today. May not next month. Experimenting.

I have created an excel listing of Solomon Island stamps using stampworld data. The next task is to add Scott numbers which should be easy since the stamp program does not have a lot of minor varieties.

Here is a snippet.
