i have been mostly sending apolgetic emails to fellow collectors who answered a simple 50x50 exchange request. I was anticipating maybe four or five replies.....and I got (so far) 31. So impossible to facilitate them all. But heartening that there are still collectors out there. |

I am continuing to redo or add pages in my US album for varieties that Mystic issued. Initially I ignored the descriptions on the left side but now I do them so that adds time (OCR text, capture image).
I noticed as I get to the modern era (2002) at some point Mystic changed they numbered page scheme. It was the odd number for the right hand page and even for the left. Now it seems even for right hand page for some sections.

Caught up with some new issues. Using my Senior (65 plus) Free Travel Pass to travel round Ireland, taking pics of post offices (yes I am a nerd). Travelled to Waterford and Derry to take photographs of monuments to Thomas F Meagher and Che Guevara so that I can prepare my own postcards. Stamps will be issued for these two people....Meagher on Thursday and Che in September or October. So I am prepared. |

Seems I keep seeing folks looking for slipcases, so I watched several hours of youtube videos on related subjects. This last week I've started making slipcases for various journals, and books. Experimented with multiple color of fabric I posted pics of 3 of them here. Also decided to make my own binders. https://www.stampcommunity.org/topi...=9917#479339 |

For the past couple weeks, I have been going through all my stock books, cleaned them up and sorted a large batch of new stamps into them then prepped a couple hundred bureau precancels and printed the album pages for them. Currently adding them and several other new additions to my albums. Next: deciding on what of my excess to sell to fund the next purchase.

Finished putting a cache of Great Britain definitives into my WW collection. I was pleasantly surprised to find that rather than being low-quality/low-value material, they had an average value of ~$20/stamp. |

Been working my way through a pile of Italian stamps today. Still not even halfway through it, so plenty of fun still to be had. Yesterday I worked through a pile of stamps from Hungary. |

I continue to add pages to my US Mystic collection. I am updating about 5 to 8 per week as I have time. This was an easy one to add a variety with a different year. I am printing these on Domtar paper which is a better than the Mystic paper. |

Finished another slipcase, and sewed on the Gossip Reprint of John N. Luff's Postage Stamps of the United States until my shoulders were cramped. I'm saving a copy of the Gossip reprint ( 80 folios) that had been three hole punched. Sewing them into a book block that I will bind into a cover. Eighteen stiches per folio, each tied around the thread that came out of the previous folio. very slow work. Punched as it is now, when a folio is opened, it tries to tear on the binder rings. Going up to the big city to pick up more supplies today, should be able to begin work on my binders next week, as soon as the ring mechanisms arrive. |
