Finished the catalog correlations for pre-decimal Australia. Now can start laying pages out since I have to wait for the interlibrary loan for the Decimal-era Brusden Whites to arrive from the APRL.

Here's a shot from the 1964-1965 Elizabeth II 5d Green, showing the various permutations and how the catalog numbers correlate.

Very nice DJ

Today I completed my inventory of my 1360 stamps of a collection WWII that my dad bought in 1974 from H.E. Harris - Very happy as this was a compilation of VI parts and many Countries involved at the time.
Rene

p.s. stamps were mostly MNH-F to most VF and surpised of the valuation so the $174 paid in 1974 by my father in $C certainly has grown in value but not in History

Today, I redesigned my Parcel Post page to accommodate the recently acquired 50¢ value (with tab). I printed the new page on rose cardstock rather than the dark pink I used on the old page, remounted each stamp, and added it to my back-of-book album.

I spent the cold weekend (got down to 6 F Sunday -- very low for this area) remounting my Straits Settlements to newly printed pages (new cream paper).

For a change, I mounted it mostly in clear mounts that I cut down from larger Scott mounts (split backs) to create a Hawid style mount. I decided to try this over hinges which I really do not like. I have not seen any real issues in retention and on par or better at retention (popping off page). Most of the stamps are used and have not put much money into them. Typical British commonwealth stamps are 24/25mm high so I took a 57mm and trimmed it. The good news if you place a mount in the wrong spot (something I have been known to do), the empty black mount does not seem begging for a stamp.

The other change I had made was I do not put the catalogue number on the page until I actually mount it which was one of the reasons I decided to redo them.

@ANGORE that page looks great to my eye.

As you may recall from a few years ago, we had a long-running debate here over black vs. clear mounts.

I admit that stamps (especially nice bi-colors) look beautiful on a black background. But in my opinion, there is nothing uglier than an empty black mount

I have U.S., UN, and Cananda all in Schaubek Hingeless albums -- so clear mounts on cream paper is definitely the "norm" for me.

Beautiful!

I like the frame to be visible around the stamp but when you use black mounts on Steiner pages they are mostly covered.

I'm the exact opposite. I cut the black mount to completely cover the frame.

Started to mount a bunch of Sweden and Switzerland stamps from a stock book I purchased at a show last year into my classic Scott Album.

This year I was able to come back to Stamps and Dead Countries!

After a year hiatus (to finish a Masters Degree, and teach a class) it FEELS GREAT being able to: break out the stamps, update DCStamps, research and begin developing new material for the site, -- heck, I even started a blog.

Almost feels like coming back from the wilderness.
Michael
