Jon - I'm not cheered up - you should have handwritten the title.

Hahaha, so you picked up on my un-adressed comment without hesitation - I was expecting you would, Geoff And obviously I should have known better, everything in handwriting off course.

My problem is, I wish I had a nice script like this first one, however in real life I think my script often look more like the messy version below....

Went to Day 1 of the Marlboro MA stamp show! Hit the $1 boxes and $2/.50 boxes of two dealers, and left, HAPPY. Odd thing is the stamps I picked up weren't even on my want list, which means my method of putting together that want list isn't all that great!!

Got copies of the Brusden-White Australian Specialist catalogs covering the Decimals era from the APRL. Just finished the First Decimal Defins, total of 163 varieties to collect for that set, once you factor in shades and UV types.

After finish entering all the varieties listed in BW for the Decimal period up to 2001 then I'll go back to page layout for my Australia collection.

Today I launched a new series of posts on my philatelic blog (see link in my signature). Focuses on New Issue stamps, something I have become very interested in over the last couple years thanks to major improvements in design quality by many nations, at least in my opinion.

Sorting through some Great Britain, came across this Scot #67, plate 17, which I am told is rather scarce.

According to my slightly aging Gibbons, Plate 17 in the rosy mauve is about a 4x to 5x premium over the other orb watermarks, generally speaking. (Plates 2 and 3 on the anchor watermark blued paper do pretty well for themselves, but otherwise, yours is the one to have.)

Plate 17 was also used for the later blue version, but that CV doesn't come anywhere near yours.

I finally succeeded in cataloging a group of old (1870's) stamps. Now I'll be able to mount them.
The color vatieties caused me to linger, deciding what to keep.

This evening I mounted some recent MNH acquisitions in my U.S. album (Scott #552-55, 669-72). I took a break from my U.S. collection from May to December, but now I'm trying to fill some more empty spaces with 1920s definitives.

plugging away on entering data from the ACSC Decimals catalog (doing 1989 today - starting to get into the Koala Imprints for reprintings of issues - what a clever way to denote a reprinting!). In between looking through a French colonies APS Sales Circuit that came earlier this week. I was first on the list to receive it, but so far have only found 3 St Pierre & Miquelon stamps to fill holes pre-1940s.
