Over the weekend, I continued moving parts of my collection from the hodge-podge of albums to newly-printed Steiner and custom pages. Worked on various S, T and "U" countries until I ran out of stamp mounts. While I'm waiting for a new order of mounts, I'll be updating inventory files created in 1992 (in Wordstar 2000) to MS Excel.

Robert

P.S. Every time I upload, the software changes the letter (U) to "you".

I couldn't stand it any longer -- I fixed the adverb in the title of this thread.

philatelically

I'd assumed that it was wordplay - "What have you done for me phi-lately.". Obviously not!

I think people got to point.

I worked on xls file trying to calculate my collection value. It has been a break from all the political news going on. I avoid it plus I voted already.

I gave a 2 hour show and tell on the stamps and postal history of Estonia to 1945 at one of my local philatelic societies yesterday evening. It went well, and I'm ready to export it to my other local society. I'm lucky enough to have two philsocs within 10 miles of home! No pictures I'm afraid as I left my phone at home. Guess it proves that I'm over 35

Good one Tim!
Please share some tasters of you exhibit when you can

My stamping has come to a standstill. Waiting for delivery of Lighthouse Grade Signum albums and Grande Vario pages.

So meanwhile I've done some shopping. Seems to me the activity on ebay is up, at least bids are often higher than I'm prepared to offer....

I've been having a lot of fun sorting through common, early-ish Netherlands stamps and hinging them onto Steiner pages. I'm up to 1960 or so.

Many of the stamps are from a stockbook I bought at an auction a few years back. The fronts look great but many of the backs are messy. So I've been soaking as I go to clean them up.

The strangest thing is I've really enjoyed soaking these stamps. so much so that I dug through my 'inbox' looking for more on paper stamps to soak. I usually hate soaking but this week it's fun.

Mark

I bought US #294 mint, Q10-Q12 used, and a bunch of Irish classics, over the counter at retail at a brick-and-mortar stamp store in the middle of the city during regular business hours on a Friday.

I've been putting stamps in their place in my albums, using the pages from Steiner. Been all over the place, last country was Ethiopia, and I find this to be a very relaxing way to spend a Saturday morning.

Went to Pittpex today and spent way too much money on items to fill holes in my collection and a slew of random stuff that I thought was cool. What's that, an almost half filled Belgian railway stamp collection on Steiner pages for $2.00. Sold! Berlin private post postal card, why not! Hard to stay focused at these shows at times.

These days I'm mounting my Swiss semipostals on newly printed steiner pages. This morning I went to Barcelona's stamp market and bought some Swiss stamps.
