I have a set of 10 different colored Wipa 1911 cinderella stamps. Designed by Koloman Moser and engraved by F. Schirnbock. Very good quality engraving and printing. look at these stamps under a magnifier and you will be amazed by the quality. My question is as follows. are there 10 or 11 different colors? Kind regards, Johan.

Thank you Peter.

I have seen this article. A very good article.

I came to my question for the following reason.

I have the set twice, unused as shown and a set with the wipa cancellation. both sets in the exact same colors, which would mean that I am missing the color 11. I also wondered about the number of 11 colors that sound a bit unbalanced. you presume that they would issue 10 or 12 colors not 11? Could be that the essay/proof shown in the Groten article is considered as the 11th color. Maybe somebody owns a complete set of 11 and can show us this set.

Johan.

Johan - Comparing the WIPA 1911 cinderellas in your post with those on the postcard in http://ephemerasociety.org/3/groten...ASDA9-08.pdf
I would say you lack number 2 in line 1 and number 1 in line 2 on the postcard.

Florian

Marking the 10 cinderellas shown by Johan with Arabic numerals 1 - 10 and the 8 ones on the postcard with Roman numerals I - VIII,
I assume that
No 1 = No IV
No 3 = No III
No 5 = No VIII
No 6 = No VI
No 9 = No VII
No 10 = No I
Nos 2, 4, 7, and 8 do not seem to appear on the postacard
while Nos II and V on the postacard do not seem to appear among those shown by Johan in his post.
