Strange French Stamp Sg1007

Hi
I'm after some help with the purple French stamp (sg1007) in the picture. As you can see it is missing the f, it has a tiny white dot where it should be.
All pictures I have found online are with the f, as are the others I have in this set (see image)
Is this an odd one?

Yvert (811a) and Maury (811b) list this variety. Yvert prices it at €60, Maury at €12.
