I purchased this as a Scott 48b, die IV, (ACSC 14A) but upon closer examination, I think it is Scott 47a, die II, (ACSC 13B).

Clearly not a die I (no break at the LL numeral)

Likewise, no break across the face of the Kangaroo ... though it may look like a small one with the naked eye

And the UR corner does not show the rounded features, nor the incomplete corner I have with my other copies of 47b. (There is a break, but too far down.)

Lastly, what do you think of the centering? I would think this MNH would grade relatively high.

Looks good to me for a Die2 and probably 3rd watermark. Show the reverse for the full picture.

The back scan doesn't do it justice, but I have other copies, and it is the 3rd watermark.

That small break, upper right corner. Is it sometimes seen in Die 2?

The small break you mention can be seen on many Kangaroo stamps. Have been researching it but have not reached any conclusion at this stage.

Definitely Die II. It's missing all the elements of the Harrison plates.

The centering is superb, it's a beautiful stamp.
