My first thoughtwas the date 15th May.
According to Google Earth Rideout Street is in south London and has a lot of blocks of flats but they are much more modern than the period I would have expecte that cards to be written in.
Rod 222 that surely image is from Rideout street London Canada. We do not / did not build houses like that in South London UK

Sorry, Rod - early in the morning, before requisite levels of tea and nicotine, so I really wasn't thinking straight! |

That's all OK Geoff, friends don't really need to apologise AQ, that's RIDOUT street, can only be Ontario Canada, (and under "Canada Stamps and covers" ) It's only natural to think of London England. |

Response from the Field Guide (Mr. Lafreniere )
The Martin Luther, and crippled children are possibly not Canadian items.

Rod:
I'm surprised no one has responded to your query. I took a look at my Unitrade catalogue but it is 2012 and your unidentified numbers are not in it.
I have an old story about General Isaac Brock who is on one of your stamps. Brock lay dying on the battle field and the conversation with his second-in-command went something like this:
2I/C: Sir, you have been such a C/O and leader that we would like to name a town after you.
Brock (in a suspicious tone): What town did you have in mind?
2I/C: Well, Brockville, of course.
Brock (with his expiring breath): Oh no, anywhere but Brockville!
A good number of Canadians will know what he meant. And, of course, I live in Brockville.
Frank. |
