Wheeler Airlines was the operating name of Wheeler Flying Service (WHAA), a historically significant company because it was the first black-owned airline certificated in the US by the FAA and it helped integrate the pilots at major US air carriers by qualifying a large number of black pilots that were subsequently hired by the nation's major airlines.

Canada spells it GREY...USA spells it GRAY.

Sorry to correct you, but that is incorrect.
You are referring to the colour, this is the Name of the town.

It may be, Mr. Wheeler, (An American) used his influence in naming the town, but GRAY is it

Where the label was printed, is unknown to me.

Gray Rocks was founded in 1905 by George Wheeler, an American from New Hampshire who arrived in the region in 1894 as a lumberjack. Standing in front of the 105-room hotel: the Sugar Loaf mountain (189 meters (620 feet)), with 22 ski runs, renowned ski center for several decades. And behind, the Ouimet lake.

Gray Rocks was a year-round privately owned resort in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, Canada, first developed as a ski destination on Sugarloaf Hill (French: Le Pain de Sucre). The ski hill had 22 downhill trails: 4 easy, 10 intermediate, 8 expert (of which 2 were "double diamond"). Also available was a snowboarding park and instruction from the Snow Eagle Ski School.

I've been to Quebec 4 or 5 times, and the other Provinces never. But, I've driven to or through over 30 States. From the Grand Canyon to Panama City Beach to Bangor Maine and hundreds of places in between. My collection of maps is too heavy to bring with me...

Hi Rod:
It's in the 2nd ed. cc3155. Tentatively dated to "1940s" based on the style of the car. But I've never seen one on cover. In 1938 the Vancouver Junior Board of Trade organized a "See British Columbia First" campaign, so the stamp may date to then.

Usually have great success, laying the stamps face up, on cool clean water, giving them 10-15 minutes, then lifting the stamps.

Disaster: was distracted (Mowing the Lawn) and came in after an hour, met with sodden, limp examples, I did my best to restore.

The Canadian stamp paper, is fragile, hence one needs to just get the orange paper damp to lift the stamp, other wise stamp can fall to bits or receive Staining

PS: could not find microprinting on the Robertsom SS, Tommy Douglas or Bartlett stamps.

The Tall ships Halifax does not soak in water, saved by drying on Freezer bag.
