Couple things I find interesting here. Originally addressed to East Syracuse. When East Syracuse was crossed out, so was USA...

Also it's marked Priority.

Then, there's the Half Penny stamp with a perfin but not other two stamps. Is that a common thing?

It looks more like Private than Priority (to me).

USA was crossed out because the address correction for forwarding was done at East Syracuse, and that postmaster (or their delegate) thought that USA was then superfluous since the forwarding occurred within the country.

I agree with "Private."

Note also on the rear flap, return address, a name is crossed out; a business partner must have died or left the Lythgoe firm.
