Don, that sounds a lot like my philosophy with crappy stamp dealers/sellers...

Oh come on....his eyeballs were bigger than his check book at the time of bidding-then he seen the total(oh heck the wife is going to kill me)-I like your response don-'Ok cancel them' then run out to the garage and yell and cuss and scream-because in the end, he might just come back and buy more from you--but yes Its a real pain--IMO--

This genuinely happened to me once. My son was about 3 and somehow got his hands on the keyboard of the computer. I must have been looking at an item and left it on the screen (it was an LP record). He managed to type numbers and next thing I knew I was the lucky winner of an LP I didn't want. I did exactly this - emailed the seller an apologised, and he agreed to cancel the order.

True story.

It seems to me that the number of ebay buyers is almost inexhaustible, Paypal tells me each month 50% of my sales are to new buyers. On the other hand I have to walk on eggs with the auction houses, no matter how bad their descriptions I can't complain too much because there are so few auction firms that I deal with.

Another great reason not to bid on ebay until the last moment. 3 hours before closing, remorse would have set in before any bids were placed.
