I apologize if I am listing in the wrong place. I am on my phone and having a hard time figuring the forum out.
I am needing some help with information on a large collection I inherited. Currently I am working on finding info about this book full of stamps.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm looking for information and possibly a sale price. "Album of the postage stamps of the republic Chinese in memory of the come congress postal universel of Paris 1947" 12 pages filled with stamps some are 1937? 1943 .. Chinese writing that I cannot read. Any way any help would be greatly appreciated!
These books were given out to delegates at UPU conferences by member countries and, I think, included issues that had appeared since the previous conference, Given current interest in Chinese stamps, this may be attractive to buyers.
What would be the best way to offer these up for sale? Like evay or?? I have so many different stamps and countries USA ect ect and do not know anything or honestly what I am doing. But am going to sell all I have, if there was interest.
Is there somewhere I can find this book online for more information. Would be great if I could actually read it . Ha!
Thanks for the welcome! This is def very mind boggling!
If you have a lot of material, probably best to try to organise it and show it to someone - whether a dealer or at a stamp club. Easy not to get the best ebay price if you don't have a track record selling this stuff - buyers often look for sellers they know.
I agree with the comments above that this particular volume should be sold intact (i.e., no stamps removed, no stamps added), clearly mentioning the UPU Congress. (I think this may be called a "UPU Presentation Book"?) There are people who specifically collect the UPU books.
I just skimmed, but I don't think anyone said this explicitly above -- this is Taiwan, aka Republic of China (not the PRC, People's Republic of China ("Communist China", as it used to be referred to)). Nope: I was wrong! Please see post immediately following.
