Rob. Lovely video..saved. If one has been using Brusden White, any other catalogue is going to seem to want. Seven seas has great colour images and helpful background information . The Specimen Opts offered in my 1990 edition. |

Australia : Printed Postmarks. (PP Stamps) Australia Post began in 1994 to recycle sheets of withdrawn stamps, to have them machine overprinted with a simulated postmark, and selling them for 5c each. Note: These are not CTO (Cancelled to Order) 4 postmark positions. Datecode (some Pmks are mute) 2 differing formats Some PP stamps are listed in the ACSC as "CTO" stamps. Australia Post does not keep any records on these stamps so printed. Ideally collected in Blocks of 4 Bibliography: Printed Postmarks David Mallen Author ASV Catalogue http://www.asv.net.au/Stamp News Australasia May 2008. |

Hi Rod A few things I didn't know. Quote: "Australia Post began in 1994 to recycle sheets of withdrawn stamps, to have them machine overprinted with a simulated postmark, and selling them for 5c each". "These are not CTO (Cancelled to Order)". "Some PP stamps are listed in the ACSC as "CTO" stamps." Here is the pdf from the link you provided. http://www.asv.net.au/stampnews_arc...ay2008SN.pdfA very interesting read. |

I'll have to have another look in the new Seven Seas catalogue about Specimens. Rob |

Good morning all. Opinion sought................ 1d (One Penny) Kangaroo Die lla Plated = HL33 (Break in Right side value tablet) May we have opinions on the Postmark please? Duplex "Killer" 6 Bar .....Is It "722" or, "732" with an inverted "3" Any suggestions of what Town Location 722 or 732 is ? bearing in mind we have no Circular date Stamp to bear witness, any ideas of what State it may come from? PS: I always have presumed "killers" were manufactured, ie did not have removable number slugs, hence an inverted 3 could not exist, but I always like to make sure. Thank you. |

A few things I didn't know. Now it's my turn Rob Where did your *.pdf come from? I have never seen Stamp News in this form, did you make it? or are they available for purchase and download anywhere? Thanks for posting, saves me scanning the pages. |

The cancellation is 722. After darkening the stamp, the middle number "2" stands out, the top loop faded making it hard to distinguish. Rob |

Thanks for posting, saves me scanning the pages. I used the link you provided and seeing that you mentioned the item "Stamp News Australasia May 2008", I then clicked the "Stamp News" button; noticed an archival list of books on the left of the page, scrolled down the list until I found "May 2008", and opened the link. To download the .pdf, I went to the top left of the .pdf and clicked onto the middle icon and downloaded it. Rob |
