Pen Cancellation required at least 2 x-shaped pen strokes but this Wenden L9 has the straight(looks like typographic) horizontal line. What does it mean?

Thanks.

I've never seen that on a Wenden stamp. I'm used to seeing the standard pen X as in your other example. Too bad it's not on a cover. The line could have been put there anytime in the past 135+ years.
