I havent seen before cinderellas issued by National wildlife federation, but now I see there were many different themes issued over years.

Fund-raising shtick. Many charities included a sheet(let) of stamps to be placed on your outbound mail. If you complied, they got free advertising. If you were also guilted into a contribution, all the better.
