One feedback: Please do not keep opening new posts for the same question. That is very confusing. Secondly, it is probably Scott 552 going by the color.
peter, two months into this going off of measurments from identification guide in computer. didnt say anything about color. notice it has a leen too the right like the rest of them on the census.
Measuring these by ruler is not an accurate endeavor. Best to use a template. Plus the color is a give away as has been stated. Also, there are many "do I have a scott 596" threads on the forum. Do a search and you will find much more in depth discussions of this issue, how to create templates and the color etc.
And welcome to the forum and thanks for posting. Let us know what you learn about this.
It's a #552. Your pictures/ruler are off. When 1/4 of a mm is significant, it isn't something you can 'wing' with a cellphone...
I'd urge you to send your cover to the PF. You could never claim to have a 596 without a proper cert from the PF or another expertizing service. It will cost you - not sure how much - prob at least $25-$50? - for you to find out you have a $.20 stamp.
We can count the number of certified examples of 596 on one hand. To claim you have one will require substantial evidence...
Always assume you have the least valuable/most common of any stamp - unless there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary...
