I am starting to wade though some loose stamps from a despatch box in a trunk that came from a distant relative who died in the 1930's ,I have not been able to find the 1 Kreuzer in black on the web . Does any member have any information on them and advice on whether I should leave them on the album page as a pair Many thanks for any advice

If genuine, and I say a big "if", the stamp on the left is Lombardy and Venetia 1858 1k Black, SGJ22, and you've done well. Catalogue value is £1,800 mint and £4,750 used

This is not a simple area, as this shows

http://stampforgeries.com/forged-st...rdy-venetia/

As jubilee says, assume a big "if".

Hello, I can see a page with Helgoland. Be aware there are many reprints and fakes. I am sure there is a thread/post somewhere on SCF which helps you with the differences. Kind regards, Johan.

Hello JT, Wilhelmina started her reign in 1898 when she became 18. The number of 406320 fits the period around 1890/1895. But thats oke. She was already on Dutch stamps from 1890 onwards(as a child).

If without gum, unused 1 kr. newspaper stamp of Lombardy Venetia is valued at €300 by Michel (€2000 with most of the original gum intact). Please, take into account that the stamp shown seems to be stained on top, though has four good margins.

Open question if anyone knows how much does the slight stain affect a full gum but cracked gum in terms of percentage of Michel value , as I decided last night to pop them all on the web and donate the proceeds to a local childrens hospice regards JT
