Hello everyone. I have this Bayern Stationery. It is posted to The Netherlands it is 2 Kreuzer plus an added 1 kreuzer stamp. I have to point out that the stamp is not attached, but it definitly belongs there. There is no Year mentioned on either side of the card or in the cancellations unfortunately. But I could figure a few facts. 1) the stamp being not attached shows me that it is a Michel 22 watermark 2, big wavy lines. issued first on July 5th 1875. Kreuzer were used untill 1.1.1876 so that means the staionery was used on the 20 and 21 of September 1875. It was cancelled first on the 20th, then a remark in blue and red pencil was put on it, which I believe reads as: Noch 1 k. meaning another 1 Kreuzer of postage needed. That was put on a day later and cancelled on the 21st of September. Quite a story now the question, why was an extra 1 kreuzer needed? To the best of my knowledge the postal rate was 2 kreuzer for a postcard from Bavaria abroad. so it was correct when posted on th 20th. I hope my story makes sense. Thanks for your input. Kind regards, Johan.
