Hello,

about fifteen years ago, my granddad died and I've inherited is stamp collection with roughly eigthy albums containing thousands of stamps from around the world. He wasn't a super hardcore stamp collector so this was just his fun at collecting the stamps he got from any source.
Most of them are from Germany (BRD, DDR, Colonies, WW2 etc.)

Back then I was a teenager and hat little interest in these stamps so I put them in the attic where they spent the last 15 years.

Anyway, I recently got more and more interest in these stamps so I took a few albums and had a look at these stamps.
The first one was the USA album with stamps from the late 1800s to about 1930, 1940. 99% of them are used.

As I don't have any knowledge about stamps but are very interested and amazed by those thousands of incredible beautiful stamps, I went on some internet sites to get some info about those stamps. Most of them are of course very common but I love to read some background information regarding those stamps my granddad collected

I scanned some of the more interesting stamps from the (first) US album.
Maybe you experts can determine if those are just very common stamps or if one or more a maybe a little bit interesting for other collectors... I really don't expect to have some super rare stamps

Here are some of these stamps
(I do have for all images 600dpi high-res scans upon request on an external link)

(very bad condition)

Thank you so much for your time and within the next weeks I'll try to take a look at all the other albums from his collection.

Welcome to the forum! Your enthusiasm suggests that stamp collecting may be a lot of fun for you. It should be very enjoyable going through and identifying some of the older stamps in this collection. While these particular stamps are not of great value in terms of money, they are, indeed, nice stamps. If you scan some of the older US stamps, we can respond to those scans. Have fun!
