I remember that Henry Gitner has advertised these stamps in Linn's Stamp News for years at least in the past.

Down the rabbit hole we've gone:

"I am seeking a reputable source for forgeries".

"I only collect postage stamps that look like they never left the post office".

"I collect essays & proofs, which are postage stamps that never made it to a post office".

Q/ What have we gotten ourselves into?

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

I just think this is an interesting tidbit from history. Just like the Bernhard notes, etc.. all part of the conflict that was WW2... There were many feats of bravery, deception , and propaganda that transpired during ww2. Fascinating to read about and at times own a small part of.
Thanks to all for the help..
