If the stamp was printed in one color, yes, it is a double print. But if the stamp was printed in two colors ( what it looks like ) it is just a bad color shift. It looks though as if two colors were used, light and dark green.

Photogravure with the direction of printing Upwards!

Scan is better now, but my remarks still hold!

Direction of printing is a standard feature of photogravure!



The waves of ink are horizontal in this Swiss stamp, the DOP is leftwards; in your Romanian stamp the waves are vertical and the DOP is Upwards!

Sometimes it is a bit more expressive :)
