Is this the most expensive stamp the Post Office has ever issued?

I think there were higher priced Revenue issues, but for regular usage, you may be right.

Yes, but the series is wasted on the wromg series (Priority and express mail). Fewer will collect them if they are interested in the subject.

For that price, I would like to see them use engraving. The USPS claims they will print 3,000,000 stamps.

The Mystic Heritage album has always called for one stamp of this type. So I bought one in anticipation of next year's supplement. The is also a $6.65 Priority Mail stamp as well.

While I don't usually collect self-adhesives, I felt that the Priority Mail and PM Express stamps were going to continue to get more expensive as the years progressed, which means fewer collectors would buy them from the PO (think $1 - $5 Columbians), making M NH stamps scarce in the future and expensive to back-fill into a collection.

Therefore, I decided years ago to add a single and a plate block of each issue to my collection so that when it passes to my son or grandson, they won't have to pay those huge sums to back-fill the collection.

They (USPS) also released a preprinted Priority Envelope, posted on another thread "Any Interest in world Postal Stationery". Have not heard if they will release a preprinted Express Mail stationery, but it doesn't look good.....
