When you post that you have ebay listings for sale, closing or anything else related to ebay sales, please put in the post where you do or don't ship to.

There are more buyers here than just in your country. It is a pain to find something you might be interested in, go to ebay, snoop around, open a listing, and then read they don't ship to your country.

I think that is only a courtesy to the other country members of this board.

Please don't take this a a rant, but treat it as a courteous request.

It was, of course my post that prompted this thread.

Profound apologies to all who were inconvenienced. This factor honestly never occurred to me.

No, it was not your post that prompted this. It was one from yesterday that I did not even get a reply to.

Good. Glad I have company. Makes me feel a bit less foolish anyway.

Did you know the you can put a person on your "exemption List" and then they can bid on your items even if they live in a country you don't ship to.

I always thought that potential bidders can't actually view an auction they are not OK'd to bid on. In other words, if the shipping location-policy you have within the listing only says "North America" or something like that, an Ebayer from Japan won't even see the listing on his computer.

BUT THEN AGAIN, I could be wrong! ;-)

Nells that's correct. If shipping is only to the US for example, these listings will not be seen by those out of the US. Unless of course a buyer is using a VPN or other IP mask.
