So I googled it. Says ebay.com.au in the search window.

Not to sure about all this.

Strange have not had any ebay contact about this issue of active content.

Hi KGV maybe your not using active content this is what the info says:

From June 2017, you'll no longer be able to use active content when creating your listings. This is to help make sure your listings perform optimally on mobile devices, improving the shopping experience and helping you sell more.
By acting now you can make sure that you're fully prepared for June, ensuring that your buyers will be able to see all the content displayed in your item descriptions.

Active content is a broad term which covers any type of non-standard text that can be included in item descriptions, usually used to provide additional functionality. Examples of active content include JavaScript, Flash, plug-ins and form actions. Listings which contain the following will most likely use active content:

Image galleries or carousels
Videos
Parts compatibility
Embedded buyer feedback
Freight calculator
Tabbed panes
Store search field

The last one is a worry if they remove store search fields from listings, less sales?

Yes its going to be gone and the Store search field be for warned that sellers using Auctiva will no longer be able to use it. You can test any seller item just add the item number and hit check now at the following below link. Results in all green will be ok, all red or partly red results will be affected when they switch off the active content. Those with red in the results will have trouble in June if they don't amend their listings, the listings will be blocked till fixed. Best bet is plain text and a very short hyperlink to other items you list. You will be left with main title, main photos and description. Terms will have to be in plain text to. As I mentioned I am glad I don't have thousands of listings up with active contents in them. Get ready for ebay selling direct to mobile phone buyers.

On another note I hope ebay sellers are ready for the loss of active content on June 1st. This includes javascript and apparently the store search field is going?

duncanvr - I saw in the latest ebay update they are going to increase final value fees by 0.15%, and I recall hearing some time ago that they would be getting rid of active content (which is fine with me), but I haven't seen anything about getting rid of the "store serach fiekd." First of all, what is the "store serch field", and where did you see it was going away?

Its in an ebay update that its going away, the "store search field" appears above the item description to the right of the screen for sellers with ebay shops, where any buyer can put search terms in there and see if the seller has anything in his shop based on the buyers search terms. Its a good thing for ebay shop owners as often buyers use it to search sellers inventory. Can you copy and paste here the latest update saying they are going to increase final value fees by 0.15%. ebay is getting more expensive to use, will sellers be able to continue to take the constant fee increases?
