Opinion:
No, looks fairly usual for early South Australian line perforations,
A lot will be found with similar large margins etc.

This fellow sold for $87,000

Thanks Rod, I just found it to be weird. Looked like it was intended for a bigger stamp. I will have some more Australia to show soon. Just getting started. Got some interesting watermarks to question.

Probably perforated by a foot treadle line perforator, Danny.
The cynosure in those days was for payment of tax, not for
pretty stamps for collectors.
(statement of fact, no insults intended for our collectors whom like good centreing)

"Mourning Cover" 1882
All 3 stamps aboard with variations of margins.

Note: look at the 6d Queen Vic. The space given on the printing plate, for stamp separation is very minimal.

Danny,
if you also collect Great Britain, be cognisant of similar stamps that may have
"wing margins" that look similar to your South Australian.

Further Reading see wing margins.

That's a really neat cover Rod, nice example of the wing margins. I will be sure to keep a look out. Thanks for your help.
