I am new here so excuse my ignorance. I have a friend in Russia that likes to collect stamps. How interested are people in the states in Russian stamps old and new? He was wanting to make contacts to either exchange (trade) or buy and sell. Please let me know. If this forum is multilingual than I can give him a line if people are interested. He does not have much time to sit and read through articles as some do. So contact with him would be more than likely weekly. Let me know please. Thanks for your time.

It's nice to have you on this forum. As far as Russia in concerned with I think Zemstvos are among the most sought after groupings, the Civil War/Revolution era 1917-23 is interesting, as is the period around the dissolution of the Soviet Union into the various states. Topically space issues should do well.
As far as translations go this is just English, but there are Free translation programs that could be used or downloaded.
I hope that's something for you!

Good collecting!
Mike

I am sure that anything he was willing to offer for sale would sell well here.

Nice to see you here too, zakota...

I have been busy with the coins. I will pass to him the information and see what he thinks. He does speak english so it is not so bad for him. It would make it easier for him. Thanks for the information. I knew some who collect coins also collect stamps.

We would certainly welcome your Russian friend on this forum. Personally, I had Russian trading that has been lost to circumstances. We were not trading in Russian stamps at the time but I have recenlt developed an interest in Russian stamps and would entertain any proposal so encourage him to come on board and develop a rapport of his own.
