I received an email this afternoon from USPS, with the subject line being "your order has been shipped". I wasn't expecting anything, so I was naturally curious. I opened the email, and the order was for the USA Philatelic catalog. The date shown that I ordered it was 4 months ago.
Really? I have tried so many times to get this damn thing sent to me, only to be met with...nothing. What the heck is this about? And I'm sure I'll only get the one (assuming it shows up), and I'll get nothing again until I go and order it. Why can't this just be a regular mailing list? What's so hard about sending these catalogs out? I don't get it.
The U.S. Postal Services is full of surprises. Whether it is the inconsistent delivery time of mail, change of rates, offerings of some new contrived collectibles, or their inept communication skills, they keep life exciting. They can be something of a mystery.
When it is personal, however, it can be very frustrating.
They used to give these out at my post office and I would pick one up there occasionally. I haven't seen one at the PO in quite some time and had forgotten all about them until I saw this thread.
