If you have the added level of protection that is a fob ("token") that you enter a number from after your password when you log into ebay, the procedure has changed. They're making it easier for you...

From ebay this morning:

Quote:
Thanks for using 2 step verification when you sign in to ebay. With your help, we've been able to give your account a higher level of security.

We're going to make 2 step verification more convenient by texting you a PIN instead of having you use your token. All you need is a mobile device. If you use our app, you'll need the latest version of that, too.

Switching to the new 2 step verification is as easy as grabbing your mobile device. Why not do it now?

Now why does everyone want my phone number. So they can sell it?

Guess I have no more stamp business for ebay.

I use it with everything that will allow it. Ultimate security.

The server that this site runs on cannot be logged onto unless I confirm the login from my phone, every single time. Love it. Someone could hack my username and password, and they still can't log on.

I didn't even know that they offered two-step verification. A quick look at their (as usual useless) help pages offered no info.
