I (Try To) Collect Iran

I picked up the following set at our last club meeting. It is supposed to be an 1881 set prepared for the government but not issued, and then sold to collectors. The 10s has what must be a bogus cancel.

Nevertheless, I like it.

I was able to find out more information about the Persia catalogue owned by a member of my philatelic society. I was thinking New York, but I had the wrong coast. Here is a link:

I haven't seen the black & white version, but the color version is very nice.

I have quite a bit of Persia, but I haven't been systematic about it. If I decide to spend any significant time there, I will definitely pick up this catalogue.

Cjd, ah yes Mr. Sadri's book. He is the expert and that book is on my list for when I get an extra 2 big ones (gotta have the color edition for sure). It'll be great day for me when that happens.
Thanks for getting back to me on this. I was secretly hoping you knew of something cheaper. Oh well, until then I'll just do the best I can with the notes I've gathered.
