Dahomey Stamp?

This stamp stood out during my sorting period. Request ID what country and year please. Thank you

Took a look at SG online.

It's SG 42, from 1913 and is a native climbing a palm tree. I'm guessing it's the 1 cent value, colour violet and black? MNH is 10p, same for used.

Dahomey was part of French West Africa and became independent in 1960. In 1975 it was renamed Benin, or formally known as the Republic of Benin.

The stamp looks in poor condition. I would bin it and look for something better.
If I find one in my worldwide mess I will send it to you along with other French Colonies. Just send me your address.

a similar return envelope of various Philippine stamps is on it's way to your address as stated in the envelope, and yes, with a Philippine postcard too but mailed separately. It should take about two to three weeks to get there
