Can anyone ID this Mexican stamp? Don't see it in Scott or in the online AntoniusRa collection.

Thanks.

Since it says "Documentos" on the left side of the vignette it may well be a revenue stamp. I am not a Mexican stamp person, but in US philately those stamps with "Documentary" are revenue stamps.

floortrader,
I know that a lot of people find some old "ratty" stamp and think that they have won the lottery simply because the stamp is old. I have been around long enough to know better. I assumed it was a common stamp and realized its poor condition. My only interest in posting it was to learn more about it and correctly ID it, not thinking I had hit the jackpot.

According to Forbin, it is the second-lowest face value in a set of 12. Yours appears to be #147 under Documentos y Libros.

Nice information. Forbin adds an additional two stamps to the listing...25p and 50p imperfs. Forbin claims perfs of 12.5, and doesn't mention the watermarked and unwatermarked distinction.
