Here's one that should send most 3c collectors into a cardiac episode.

If you are talking about the perforated stamp, look closely. Many positions from Plate 11L look similar. |

off topic: My favorite DT (19th century USA) is the Scott #2(B) double transfer in POST OFFICE. I like it when the double transfer is obvious from a mile away. my second favorite is Scott #7, 89R2. Nienken claims its the largest, but I think the one above (Scott 2(B)), is more striking in appearance. My guess is Winston or txstamp could supply us with a wonderful pic of 89R2. It is high on my want list! The 3c DTs above are cool, too, but I'm still a bigger fan of the the 1c and 10c rg |

Mine might be a slightly different DT. It was listed as a #26 position 14L9. Since I know nothing of plating, I am taking it at it's word. I have an example of the imperf 3 cent DT as well. |

I love that #2 DT as well. It and the 9X1 major DT are high on the list of things I hope to afford at some point. |

rg, here's a decent copy of 89R2. Can you guess where I bought it? I have also sold two copies of 89R2 over the last year. |

rev, your 14L9 is probably from the late state (14L9L). I don't have an image of that position nor do I have it in my collection. Can you post a scan? |

As it turns out, I do have an image for 14L9. This is actually early state which your stamp might be. I would still like to see yours, rev. |

I want to lodge a complaint... there is an example of of a triple transfer cluttering up this thread and one of those is even upside down |

The complaint should be that it does not have the left margin, which shows it completely. :-) |

It pays to look at your stamps. I acquired this cover as an example of a Fox fake. Years later looking at the stamp I saw it was a better double transfer variety (position 31R1). |
