With the release of the 6th movie today, Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince I thought it would be appropriate to share any owl posted letters. I am excited to see this new movie. I have read the whole series and thoroughly enjoy the characters. I hope no one received a howler.

I like this GB Miniature sheet from 2007. The definitive style makes it unusual and gives it a touch of class. Londonbus1.....Which most modern GB doesn't have. |

sharksfan, I also do not have any Harry Potter stamps, although I think I should get some.
Londonbus1, Those are very nice. The coat of arms for the school and each group are striking, thanks. |

I am fairly certain that France & Great Britian have issued a few sets for Harry Potter. I know that some country has a sheet for each of the movies. In the US there had been a few event postmarks related to the series. I'll have to dig deeper for more accurate info. |

On the same day of issue as the Miniature sheet I showed above, a set of 7 book cover stamps were issued as well as a 'Smilers' sheet of the 'Definitive' stamps. The top sheet of 20 shows the original sheet. The dark areas were the adjoining labels which were printed with thermachromic ink which when warmed showed magic spells ! There were 20 different positions for the spells so one can imagine how much cash you would have had to fork out to be complete !! Oh yes, the 'smilers' sheet was S/A as opposed to regular gum for the M/S. |

I really like the book cover stamps. Also, the layout of the magic spell stamps is neat, where they appear to be in an old tattered book. |

I love these stamps. I kind of wish the U.S. would do some things like this. |

I picked up a strip of the 7 book covers used at my clubs silent auction last night for $3.00. That may have been too much, but I didn't care. They are all attached & on paper, but I am unsure of they were postmarked on the FDOI.
Cimarron- we did just have the Simpsons, Star Wars, Comic Book series, and Disney series within the last 5 years. |

A brace of envelopes received in 2014 with a pair each apparent on them of US 2013 Harry Potter stamps, names and addresses hidden electronically. Being as the Harry Potter books and movies have enlivened many hours for myself, and people remember because of how things made them feel, I do like these stamps, and wish to acquire the entire set used sometime. For larger pictures of these stamps, and hopefully others from the set, mine still on their covers, please see the thread 'US 2013 Harry Potter Stamps shown here' https://goscf.com/t/36215 |

In the original post of 15 July 2009, stamperdude said: Quote: With the release of the 6th movie today, Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince I thought it would be appropriate to share any owl posted letters. Here you go stamperdude. Found this one at an Iowa City postcard show, earlier this year, for the topic. In the fictional world of Harry Potter, this card was definitely carried by an owl to "Gramma's" house, if you only believe! Linus |
