great britain-1867 sc#57 plate 2 wmk maltese cross "ink error"?

the subject stamp "has" what seems to be a "closed up" letter "g"

Looks like spread of ink giving the illusion of a closed G, which is not, I think, listed by SG.

My first look had me thinking a plate crack. Since it stops at the top frame line I doubt it's a plate crack, nonetheless a very interesting piece with nice centering. Anyone know if the ink on these is safe in a soaking?

just a "spreading of ink" issue? Stanley Gibbons offers no such mention or listed anything regarding this sc#57 plate 2.Possibly my subject stamp is the first of its kind? <jackpot stamp> ha ha ha..<louds of laughs>note-the (2011) scott cv $1,100.00 for the plate 2 addition

If it were a plate crack, what are the odds that no others have surfaced in 150 years?
