I have the following two blocks of SG314, one mint, the other used (possibly CTO).

The first interesting thing is that both blocks are made up of vertically se-tenant Type A and Type B stamps. The following image shows the difference between the two types. Type A has four shading lines in the lower part of the loop of the "5", whereas Type B has five.

Next, is a very obvious flaw in the lower right stamp of the mint block, between the second and third florets. This is most likely just an inking flaw, but it would be of interest to know if anyone else has this flaw.

Finally, ACSC used to list a variety called "recut earring" or something similar. This is listed in my ACSC from the 1980s but disappeared sometime before my later 1990s edition. In the top left stamp of the mint block, one of the left-most pearls is definitely squashed, when compared to the other stamps.

Is this the repealed "recut earring" variety? Can anyone comment on this?
