Here is an image of a stamp depicting both sides of a 1648 gold doubloon of Honoré II, Prince of Monaco (1597-1662), designed and engraved by French artist Jean Pheulpin (1907-1991), and issued by Monaco in November, 1977, Scott No. 1088.

Savings Day - Coins from Daorson
October 31, 2012
Daorson was the capital of an Illyrian tribe called the Daors. The Daorsi lived in the valley of the Neretva River between 300 and 50 B.C. Coins of Daors were cast in bronze, weighing about 5 grams and a diameter of 17 mm.
The stamps are printed by offset lithography with embossed coins.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting an ancient Roman coin of Augustus Caesar, engraved by Jesús Terriza de Coca (1929- ), and issued by Spain on May 26, 1976 as one of a set of three stamps commemorating the 2,000th anniversary of the founding of Zaragoza (aka Saragossa), Scott No. 1944, Edifil No. 2319.
