I just found this used SC#85 in a box of duplicates.

Does anyone know if the two horizontal bars going through the flag cancellation are one of the three styles alluded to in the Unitrade catalogue - or just some extra ink?

Looks like the precancels command a bit of a premium...

Thanks,

Al

The bars are part of the flag cancel. You do not have a precancel.

NOT a precancel. Those lines are part of the flag cancel.

Thanks folks!

Google agrees with you - 'scuze my laziness, but I scanned it first and figured I hadn't checked-in here for while...

here how look this cancel on a cover , The 1898 Xmas stamps are very interesting to collect with the shade varieties, the cancels, but for me, the cancels have to be on a cover.

rod222,
Can you tell me what publication your scan comes from? It looks very informative.
