Phil,
Not really, besides proposing the single frame exhibit & youth table. Before I joined the club, they already had a Lincoln cachet show cover series theme in place. Heck, there is a Lincoln bust or stamp pictured on our business cards, stationary, envelopes, and flyers. He has been a running focus for the club for years- decades even. I just try to keep things fresh with a slightly younger perspective.

I hope you have a great time! I'm actually going to break away and spend Saturday at a show myself.

Londonbus1,

Glad to see you back on the forum. I hope to make it to the show in time. We have a wedding to go to the night before in Chicago and are returning Sunday morning. Needless to say I will have a long day.

Also,
What did you want for the metal Route 66 postcard you had acquired a week or 2 ago?

Well I made it to the bourse before 12:00 today! Not too bad for leaving Lombard, IL at 8 a.m. I received good comments about my 5 frames from attendees, dealers, and fellow club members. I picked up some new material for my Lincoln collection, some postcards for my Route 66 collection, and a few other covers that caught my eye. I met a young man of 7 & his parents that just started collecting stamps because he watched a documentary on the process of stamp printing. I pointed them to our website & gave them our clubs card along with my phone number. I had a good time and hopefully all in attendance did as well.

The only real disappointment was that we did not have a USPS table. The postal clerk that ran the philatelic window had recently retired & the philatelic window has been closed since earlier this year. I had also heard that another upcoming show in Bloomington IL known as CORNPEX will not have a USPS table this year nor an event postmark.
