I have found these 2 better stamps in an old collection. Usually I am suspicious when come accross a valuable stamps amongst the unvaluable.
Any idea are they can be forgeries? Also about the postmarks... it looks that they have been used in 1939. (issued in 1929)... is that has been a legible use?
Filipo, the postmarks are certainly late usage but they look genuine enough. The stamps were probably put on a philatelic cover. Shame you don't have that!
Thank you, Tim. In Scott is a note that these stamps have been used in eastern Crete in 1941-1942 (but with the Greek postmarks), so it looks that they have had extended time span of usage... in that case 1939. was not so late.
Italian Offices Abroad ~ Aegean Islands ~ Rhodes. Air Post (Mixed Set) 1 Lira = Upright Watermark = 1935 The other three, sideways Watermarks = 1937-1938 Allegory of Flight.
