Dear stamp community family

I am still trying to identify my UPO's (Unidentified Philatelic Objects). Here I have some india Revenues (one from India and two from India princely state Gwalior). Due to the currency they must be issued before April 1957. Does any expert know the year of issue. Unfortunately I do not have any catalogue of revenues.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards from Switzerland

André

The Gwalior revenues are listed in Koeppel and Manners' catalogue 'The Court Fee and Revenue Stamps of the Princely States of India' (often abbreviated to 'K&M'), published in 1984, which is currently undergoing revision, although the section that will include Gwalior is unlikely to be available for some time.

The stamps portray Maharajah Madho Rao Scindia.

The green stamp is #410 in the catalogue and was issued 1908-10.

The black and brown stamp is #501 or 501a in the catalogue (501 listed as black and chocolate, 501a as pale grey and dark brown), and are known with cancels from 1920-25, although the exact issue date is not specified.

The first year in the date range provided by Köppel and Manners signifies the date of issue of a particular stamp and the last year denotes the date of last printing of the same particular stamp or the latest recorded date of usage.

Thanks for the correction Joy and apologies André! My excuse is the poor quality of the illustrations in K&M!
