When it comes to incorrect identification, I think this seller takes the cake. Sometimes it seems almost as if they pick catalog numbers at random. And they never respond to queries or to corrections. Here are two good examples from today.

This seller has been mentioned before on this forum. After my experience with them I stay away any time I see the name.

He is one of those sellers who responds to negative/neutral feedback with invective and name calling. I think I did buy from him earlier this year, as I recall shipping was very slow. I agree, a good seller to avoid.

Random indeed.

I just saw an ebay lot description from another seller, with the following, helpful commentary:

"All my used items are freshly cleaned if required at the time. "

Clueless seller that has been advertising in the major philatelic publications for decades. Also overprices everything out the wazoo. That said, you sometimes CAN get a good deal on the bulk lots/collections they offer, if you negotiate down far enough. Sometimes they are willing to come off the asking price by large amounts... basically their mantra is throw a high price out there and see if there are any takers.

Could be worse though... Noble Spirit, while being primarily an auction seller, when they do have high-dollar singles or collections on consignment that they list Fixed Price, it's always at full catalog or higher, regardless of condition. Even with the Best Offer option, I avoid. I figure that if a seller even remotely thinks that damaged merchandise without other redeeming characteristics (usage, cancel, variety, etc.) is worth even asking full catalog for, it's not worth my time, as invariably they are wanting too much.

Agree with the comments: stay away. I have purchased a few items from him, but anything without a certificate has come back (when I send it in for cert) as cleaned, reperfed, or both. Very sad.

The comments about this seller are very accurate, I believe. I have bought 2 nice items at very good prices from them in the last 3-4 years. In both cases the items were modern and misdescribed, to my advantage. Would never buy or bid on classic, specialized, or described as rare or elusive material material from them.

The late Steve Irwin's mantra comes to mind, "Danger...danger!"
