Looks like it. I didn't know about that UL corner. Guess the Lower Left Corner Flaw is much more. Maybe you could point it out to Unitrade. Gilles/Wert, what a good eye. |

Here is another oddity on the Scott 656 Sprinter stamp. I am calling it "blue earning". Probably not a variety, but if other stamps come forward with the same oddity..You never know. Robert |

Is your paper dull or HB (Hibrite)?
My position 2 does not have the blue spot.
There are several blue marks on his spine and head.
Why did you change the background colour for your close up image?
Both your position 4 and mine have the red circle in this section of his face. |

Wert:
How many stamps do you have to go through, for example with your Scott 741, to find an oddity such as that?

Robert:
I don't think you have to worry too much about boring people. You are getting about 1500 views per page. I have a similar page on the Australian group for KGV "Sidefaces" varieties. As you probably know, the Sideface and Kangaroo designs were were Australia's definitive from 1914 to 1937. Unfortunately the main Catalogue uses halftone illustrations of the varieties - not the best way of showing delicate flaws - and I have many times had problems making decisions based on them. So two or three others and I have been posting high-def images. I am getting about 400 views per page and will probably keep going until new views drop to under 10 per day, and I would in any case have been gathering the images. So if anyone is bored with them, it is their choice whether or not to continue watching.
So keep up the good work.
Frank. |
