So I can look up in Scott.
A year would do. Thank you.

Hi Rod,

I suggest you try this website which I find very helpful in identifying Machins:

http://www.adminware.ca/machin.htm

You need to look for listings with elliptical perfs ("syncopated perfs" in Scott) and security slits.

Further Investigation. Unlisted Scott.
Stamp has to be held on an oblique angle to the light source.
Queen type of 1970 with redrawn portrait, and type of 2006,with iridescent overprint of "Royal Mail" (and Coded) in wavy lines.

(Scanner will not pick up these wavy lines)

Self adhesive with oval slits.

Unlisted Scott, or....Scott has included this stamp in the 2013 list (MH426)

There is an error somewhere because this stamp has the code "ROYAL M12L" Indicating a 2012 release.

Aha! Update with Nigel's link.
The 2012 code was released January 2013..........all solved!

It is MH426

Hi Rod,

One down, two to go!

My SG and Scott catalogues are too old to deal with these.

I haven't plunged into collecting Machins yet but I'm intrigued to read about all the variations.

I also suggest you download Ian Billings' ("Norvic Philatelics") free catalogue of Machin Security Definitive Stamps:

http://www.norphil.co.uk/securitymachins/

This has lots of useful information.
