Just curious. I am not very advanced with these issues. It seems nice when on ebay to be able to return to the top of the page you are on, with the touch of a button. I do not know what that would take to implement?

You already have that function on the keypad in front of you. It is called HOME. Touch it and you'll go to the top of the page. It has an opposite, called END. Touch that and you'll go to the bottom of the page. In between these extremes, use PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN to move in sections throughout the page. |

There are different keyboard layouts when it comes to these shortcuts, especially if you have a numerical keypad. Since I keep NumLock on all the time, the "Home" and CTRL Home don't work on my keypad without turning off NumLock.
However, look around your keyboard, as some keyboards have a 3rd option. For example, on my keyboard I have another Home and End button that can be accessed by holding down the FN key. On my keyboard, the coloring of the lettering lets you know which key to hold down (CTRL, FN, ALT, ALT GR...) to access alternate key mapping. Quite useful for me since I keep my NumLocks set. |

Ok, I will try those options. I did say I am not that advanced. I always scroll and scroll. Sorry to ask such a goofy question! |

It's not a goofy question at all. To be honest, I never thought about using Home, End, PageUp, PageDown... keys until someone asked a similar question on another board. I thought those days of using those keys on my terminal emulators 30 years ago were long gone when the mouse and scroll mouse came along. Now I've gotten used to scrolling when Home/End would be much faster. Habits are hard to change. |

Thanks to you all, Maybe I should ask for espresso in in my coffee in the AM. I try and think I get many things, however many simple things go right over my head. |

Quote: Or ctrl-arrow down. I have independent arrow keys that aren't tied to the keypad. And indeed, CTRL up/down arrow works just like HOME and END! Excellent! Learn something new on SCF almost every time I visit! k |
